Family home defense: refers to the proactive measures and strategies a family implements to protect themselves and their property from potential threats within their home. It encompasses a range of actions, from preventative security measures to having a plan in place should a home invasion or other dangerous situation occur.

Family vehicle defense: isn’t a formally defined legal term, but it refers to the concept and legal principles surrounding the use of force to protect oneself and one’s family while inside a vehicle. It encompasses the right to self-defense and the defense of others within the context of an occupied vehicle.

Self-defense: refers to the act of protecting oneself from harm or injury through the use of reasonable force. It’s a right recognized in many legal systems, allowing individuals to defend themselves when they have a reasonable belief that they are in danger of unlawful harm. The force used in self-defense must be proportionate to the perceived threat.

Operational skills with a firearm: refer to the practical abilities and knowledge required to safely and effectively handle and use a firearm.

Zeroing in your sights on a firearm: means adjusting the firearm’s sights (either iron sights or an optic like a scope or red dot) so that the point of aim aligns with the point of impact at a specific distance.

Outdoor survival skills: refer to the knowledge and abilities necessary to stay alive and healthy in a natural environment, particularly in situations where you are faced with unexpected challenges or limited resources. These skills encompass a wide range of techniques for meeting basic human needs and dealing with potential dangers in the outdoors

The term “pepper spray combative” describes a situation where pepper spray is used on an individual who is actively resisting or fighting. It implies that the person sprayed is not compliant and may be posing a threat to themselves or others, necessitating the use of pepper spray as a means of control or self-defense.

The term “matched force” in the context of an altercation with another human being refers to the principle of using a level of force in self-defense that is proportionate to the threat being faced. It implies that the force used should be no greater than what is reasonably necessary to stop the attack and ensure one’s safety or the safety of others.

A marksmanship course: is a program designed to teach and improve a person’s skills in accurately shooting a firearm or other projectile weapon (like a bow and arrow). These courses vary widely in focus, duration, and intensity, catering to different skill levels and specific needs.
